Has anyone hard-wire a Valentine V1 radar detector on the EX35 ?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

i am in the process of doing it now, i have taken a lot of pictures. i have run into one problem. i had a mini add a circuit for my last car. but it appears that the fuses in the EX are mini mini fuses. i really don't want to splice into a wire or something. does anyone know how to get around this. ??

Why don`t you just use an invisicord?

Though, you won`t be able to use remote button.

zer...stall

Invisicord wire is the same use for V1 and Escort/Bel

Invisicord yellow WIRE goes to BROWN wire of the Rearview MirrorInvisicord Black WIRE goes to the Black wire of the rear view mirror.

I installed mine in 10 sec.

Here is where you can get it.

http://www.invisicord.com/order.paypal.html

Make sure you order that extra service for G35, 350Z, FX35 Upgrade.

The metal tips that go to the Rearview mirror harness are a lot thinner

than normal. From my experience, you wedge that flat side of the tip on

the back upper part of the stock rear view wire. SEE PIC BELOW.

You only need 8" wire if you`re installing it like mine.

I wanted a clean install, so I used zip tie to cover the exposed thin wires.

BTW, if you have that sensor or laser showed on Jmess installation, you probably would do the installation like he did. My ex35 didn`t come with that laser feature.

thats a nice install. i didn't even know something like that exists. i was thinking about getting the adapter that holds the V1 under the rear view mirror. ( think it is adverstised on this site). i just found out that i can still use my add a circuit. i got a little nervous because we have those flat profile mini fuses. i thought that the mini fuses wont work but it appears that you can just use the regular mini fuses, only downside it will stick out a little. i already had the adda fuse and it was easier to run the wire than on my last car. i will try to finish it up soon and post the pics. i have it clipped to my sun visor.

I used the "mini" in the "mini-mini" socket and after a bit of finagling with the cord it worked just fine...

"Cigar Lighter" shows the fuse that I piggy-backed (the 15A "Cigar Lighter" slot, which is ignition-switched)
"Fuse box" shows the whip installed.
"Front", "Right" and "Left" are self explanatory.

The clip is a bit of a cluge, but I didn't feel like spending any money on a mirror mount (just Google "valentine one mirror mount" for some options), so I MacGyvered my own (it's cheesy, whatever...)

I bought the fused whip at AutoZone. The "micro" fuses in the EX work just fine in the "mini" fused whip. I stuffed the cable in the head-liner and routed it down to the fuse panel. I can't remember where I grounded the other end to, but I suspect you'll be able to find a spot (let me know if you have trouble and I'll bend my fat a$$ down there again and snap a photo, sorry I forgot!)

Hope this helps.

Here are the photo's...

Thanks for posting your Links...I converted them into Photos for ya.

I'll take some pictures too, once I get mine done... unfortunately, it'll be installed in my Truck and not the EX35.

This is how I have my Escort mounted.

Plugs into the rearview mirror for power.
