i wanna know has anyone else had this problem on a 94-96... My bumper front really looks sad... And from what pl are telling me, its gonna cost me a grand. I asked them to just take the plastic off and substitue it with soemthing like a billet grille, and they say 1200.. im like DAM... But i have to do something.. i have a nice car and the front looks like poo. m prolly gonna take off the otehr fog light. cause im not paying 200$ for another fog light... And fill that area up too witht hose plastic fill ins or something!.. Anyone wanna gimmie an idea of what to do or who i shold take it to, and what they should do. Before i take it to someone and let them drill me underground

New fog lights from Joe were only $135.

It's a $50K+ car, so why are you surprised it would cost $1K to replace the front bumper cover to look llike new?

Yes, others have experienced those broken 'struts. They are repairable. Goop plumber works great. Have to hold them up in place (duct tape works great) while it dries overnite. Or 'junkyards' for used bumper? same for used fog lites.Guess how much a front door interior panel is? How about the window channel--the rubber thing the glass runs in? A front door assembly, bought by the part might cost $10K!

1.) So does the parts manager or the shop manager give you a discount since it is worth so little? No, because it is still a $50K+ car when you get a part or have it serviced.

2.) After market crap quickly kills resale value.

The value of a car depends on how much you will pay for it.

Or as a corollary, how much will you spend to maintain it?

Remember at $300/month after it is restored to as new specifications is $3600 per annum. Any less (some saved for futer major replacement perhaps) and you are driving your car into the ground.

the car doesnt care how much its worth NOW. it only knows it was sold as a $50,000 car.

1200 to fabricate some billet down there for the "slits" would be retarded. You can get a "sheet" of that billet stuff and shove it in there fairly easy. it may even look decent with nothing in there? I say cut them out, and put billet in and see what you think... You might be able to do a decent job yourself, but it wouldnt be complicated. Someone here on the forum did it, see if you can find that post. it was a black 94 with billet grille and billet lower part.

Worst case scenario if you end up ruining this bumper you find a new one and call it a day and really didnt lose anything.

You'll be very happy with a new bumper, $1,000 is a small price to pay to feel good about your Q.

I put a new rear bumper on my greenQ and I love to look at how good the car looks with it.

remember, on cars...the first things to get brused are bumbers...its how you tell an old car from a new car.

spend spend spend.. its the american thing to do!!!

It makes us feel good.

thnx peeps... i mite do what WES said.... something about how the streets n houston are made.... nothing is level.. And i feel if i get another one, after some few scrapes.... they'll be broke again. You all are right to a certain extent.. 1 grand isnt much, but its alot if u KNOW that that bottom grille will possibly break and crack within a year.

Right now im saving to buy another engine and transmission. replace both maybe next year. Price for transmission with motor is 1400$ and labor is about 1700$

I think my car has 180k miles.. so its time to start saving.!

I'm up in the air about that black Q. I like the bottom more than the top. As far as buying a new bumper, how bad is yours man? I'm sorry but a G is alot of money, I dont care how nice or how much the car cost whenever, it's still alot of money. Invest in car bra or something homie!!
