Any failed or problemed Nico/RB ecu's out there? Just asking because my 92 Q is acting up bad and stalling without throwing any codes.. Very odd, like one of the injectors is clogged or something. Can't find anything wrong with it actually. I will be changing spark plugs and 3 injectors within the next two weeks, but the Q is grounded until then due to the stalling engine.

I've got the reprogramed ecu from Robert and I have the JWT transmission control untit, but I just wanted to know if anyone has had any problems up to this point..... Just trying to investigate my issues is all. My part of NC does not have the 10% ethanol either so that's not causing my issue.

Oh and Hi all! I know it's been a while.....

Swap in your spare ecu, that is just one of the half dozen spare electronic modules you should have. Rare for ecu to fail modded or not.We have seen maybe 1 out of hundred old Q ecu fail by now. Still that's 99% reliable. 18-14 years.

JWT makes a TCU? Did not know that. How's your MAF and it's connectors?

Two instances mine has done that was the MAF (worse symptoms) and second with a rough idle I was able to use my consult cable/laptop/nissan data scan and check each cylinder one at a time and found cyl #8 had an injector or sparkplug issue. It cleared up so I don't know what it actually was.

That's what I'm thinking it is. A possible MAF problem. Check the pins in the connector. Perhaps one has come loose and needs to be recrimped or possibly resoldered.

Thanks for the replies. I did check the MAF as one of the first possible problem points, but it was fine. When I get back home I'll swap out the ecu (more then likely grasping at straws there, but you never know). We'll see what my injectors look like when I change out three of them. Car never threw any codes and that is what is throwing me off. Course I haven't has any issues with my Q in forever so I guess I was due.

I had one of the first series one ECU's he made fail. Robert replaced it with a series II 1994 model ECU which he claimed was a more robust design.

How old are the fuel pump and FPCU? Were they installed new or used?

Fuel pump is new, only 1 1/2 years old or so and I have a spare fpcu. Hmm.... I don't know if a have a series I or not.... Got mine kinda early on from him. Wish I was back to work on this now.

Wish I knew what that felt like.

Ditto. This morning, I was driving and I noticed an extra light lit on the cluster. The TCS OFF (Which I always have on, I don't like the TCS on when it's dry.) and the SLIP light. I parked at Wawa to get coffee and cigarettes and when I came back and started the car, the SLIP light didn't come on after the initial check. Probably a fluke thing, but I'll search for it and see what the deal is.

One F-ing headache after another. But I love it. Sometimes I feel my Q is like that annoying girlfriend that you just want to beat and dump her, but she's really, really hot, great in bed, and has really hot friends.

LMAO. I'm retarded this morning. Waiting for the store to open and customers to aggravate me.
