I randomly decided to browse eBay to see what kind of parts are brewing on there and I came across something I've really been wanting for a while now. It's a JUN style manifold and the construction and quality LOOKS really nice but I didn't know if someone on here has anything to say about it from actually using it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Any thoughts or experiences?

Personally if I was spending 600 on a manifold I would just get a greddy because I know greddy is reliable.Havn't had any experience with that manifold though so that's just my opinion

+1...BTW one of those picks looks like you can walk through that thing...

I figured as much. But the thing is the only short runner style manifold for an s15 motor that has a reasonable price tag is this GReddy here:http://www.advancespeedshop.co....htmlProbably what you guys were referring to?

I just figured that the construction of the KU engineering (eBay) manifold looks pretty reliable and maybe someone would know a bit more about it.

Unless you are running larger cams and a larger turbo, a manifold that has such short runners, especially with a larger throttle body will only hurt you. Expect your powerband to move higher and lose some low end response.

Not only that, with the S14 and S15 SR engines, you need to use the S14/S15 throttle body since coolant passes through to to regulate the fast-idle cam. If you bypass this, you'll idle at ~2000 RPM (engne thinks the coolant hasn't warmed up yet).

It looks cool, but not worth the loss of response in my opinion.

No not really since you bypass it you wont have the fast idle when the car is cold that's it. your car will just take a bit longer to warm up i know since i got an s14 sr20 my self.

oh and if he gets one of those intake manifolds he wont lose low end power he will get a better throttle respond though all the rpm's

Yeah I can't say I agree with Thoughtful_One here because I actually just read an article in D Sport magazine about how they got impressive gains out of a hypertune short runner style manifold on a stock internal s15 motor. With a 77mm throttle body, short runner manifold and bigger injectors they gained 53 rwhp.

Okay, that's fine. I was under the impression that bypassing it would cause a problem. All I did was Bypass the coolant line, which makes sense why I had such a high idle.

So, bigger injectors, but did they increase boost? Also, where was that 53 WHP made? It had to be peak power.

There is no doubt that they make power, but I can't see something like that helping low or mid-range power, especially with a huge TB.

Have a link to the page?

As I recall. Their main powerband was around 4500-7500. With the intake it gain like 20-50whp over the main powerband.

All intake manifold will lose some low end 1.5k-4k powerband but it will make more power in 4k+ range with full boost.

Only way to gain a few ponies in lower end and a Lil top end is to get stock intake manifold extude and hone ( just a few ponies nothing drastric, just more than stock)
