Has anyone ever tried swapping the 6spd RB26 gear set into an RB25 transmission casing?

I was curious if anyone had tried swapping the complete 6 spd gear set from the RB26 to the RB25/300ZX TT Transmission???

not possible. [hell, anything is possible, but this is a bad idea]

the R34 GTR uses the 6 speed. the R33 and R32 use 5 speed transmissions.

the 5 speed transmissions are Nissan trannies. the 6 speed trannies are Getrag units.

the internals are not compatible.

also, the getrag transmission has a shorter 6th gear than the nissan 5th gear. the nissan trans is designed for a 4.111 rear, while the getrag trans is geared for a 3.545 rear.

using the getrag trans in a car with a 4.08 rear will cause a considerable loss of top end.

unless you swap in the 3.545 gears, the R34 transmission will make you car slower on both acceleration and top speed.
