Has anyone ever taken the roof rack off a Frontier? Or thought about it?

Love the 2020 Frontier.
You can get a sunroof which is great but ONLY with that roof rack.
IN a pickup I dont see any purpose at all for such a roof rack except lower your mpg and increase windnoise.

Has anyone ever taken off this rack or thought about it?
I wonder if its possible to turn the vehicle into a slicktop w/o too much damage to the body on the roof.

Here is an example vehicle:

I'll have to look into it after the holiday. We have a few new Pro-4X's on the lot that were just PDI'd, so I can do a real-life inspection in addition to checking the ESM. Merry Christmas all!

Finally got a chance to pop one of these, and I found the roof is flush underneath the rack posts. All it would take to remove it and make a slick-top is some decorative screws, or have a body shop fill the holes and shoot the roof.
