Ok my question is has anyone ever taken say a megan racing turbo manifold and taken it to a weld shop and had the welds reinforced would that help it from cracking or it doesnt really matter cause I have a awesome weld guy who owes me some and was thinking of maybe doing something like this picking up a cheap manifold and having him reinforce the welds but not sure if its gonna help or not or it doesnt really matter

Honestly I have a XSpower manifold an not broken a weld without the reinforcement bracket on there. I just had my exhaust ripped off not that long ago too, and all it did was break 2 studs. All the welds were cherry, and thats a cheapo manifold. Megan's are decent. Just go get the manifold ceramic coated (10+ hp, keeps heat down) and use the reinforcement brackets and don't worry about it. If it breaks have him fix it. Like you said he owes you.

The megans don't crack at the welds they crack at the apex on bends. Megans are all mandrel (spelling?) bent so you don't really see them crack at the flange welds

I like them, definately helped above 4k rpm's. Made reving very smooth, which in turn gave me more HP. Maybe not many but some, over all very nice. I just threw up a pic to show the ceramic coated manifold, I did my divided dump too. My legs used to feel like they were on fire, I barely notice the heat any more.

GT28RS.... almost twice the size of the t25 and about the same size as the 2871r. I still can't believe I didn't crack the manifold because I dropped my exhaust going 75 down the highway. It sheared the dump pipe almost in half and just broke 2 studs that were holding the turbo on.
