ok i thought my ecu was messed up so i got another one from the dealer. we checked voltages and stuff and found out my harness was bad. now i got another harness and it is good but the ecu is sending 12v constant to the injectors and had no ground!

so i have 12v constant with ecu on both terminals and no ground.

so i guess what i am asking is is this my ecu messing up or is my harness still a peice of &*^% and do i need to rewire my injectors?

by the way this is on a rb20

thanks in advance!

You gave there people a total of 44 minutes to answer a question. Some times it takes days for some one to read and reply. We all have life outside of nico club.

I DO UNDERSTAND THAT BUT I ALSO HAVE ONLY BEEN ANSWERED TWICE ON LIKE 13 DIFFERENT POST THAT I REALLY NEEDED HELP ON! IT IS JUST FRUSTERATING BECAUSE I HAVE AN RB20 FOR 7 MONTHS AND I CAN NOT GET IT STARTED! AND I ALWAYS WAIT BUT NEVER GET A RESPONSE FROM ANYONE ON HERE! SO I AM A LITTLE TEMPERMENTAL SO YOU MIGHT HAVE TO LOOK OVER THAT. BUT 7MONTHS WITHOUT A CAR IS A VERY HARD THING TO DO WITHOUT!

thats the price you pay some times for an engine swap. Did you buy a new wire harness or a used one? New battery and wires? What volt is your alternator pushing out?

WIRING HARNESS IS GOOD AND SO IS EVERYTHING ELSE. MY PROBLEM IS THE FUEL INJECTOR WIRES. (SORRY ABOUT CAPS I AM AT WORK). THEY SHOW A CONSTANT 12V ON BOTH TERMINALS WHERE ONE SHOULD BE A GROUND. I UNDONE ALL MY WIRING FOR THE SWAP AND STILL GIVES 12V ON BOTH. TOOK OUT THE BATTERY AND STILL HAD 12V ON BOTH. UNDONE THE ECU AND IT QUIT. SO MY QUESTION IS, IS MY ECU BAD? OR IS THERE SOMETHING I AM MISSING?

Did you upgrade the injectors or are they stock? was the harness cut at any time?

ok homie. This is what you need to do. All the grounds on the harness are black wires. THere are 2 plugs for the injectors. One from the lower harness for power and the other from the upper harness from the ecu for pulse signals. Now, after this is checked. Find the 7 pin plug that has 12vdc and one ground. The ground is what you need to use a multimeter for a probe it and find it at the ground junction group it is near the ecu plug. Need more help i can send pics. also check the injector harness.

Man, not trying to be a jerk, but _lots_ of people on here have been working on their swaps for over a year (myself included). It takes time and money and most of us have one or the other :-\ I wish I could help you on this, but I did not do my harness, I had Carl do it (less for me to worry about)

Keep your chin up, sometimes these things take time.

Thanks for the help KULLIN_DRIFTER

i have been trying to keep my chin up and it is hard! i have had time and everything but something slways seems to go wrong! i should have had it done by now. but i think it might be the ecu because it only does it when it is plugged in. or i can get a stand alone and bypass it but who has 400.00 to just throw around anyway. unless someone has something cheaper or another way.

by the way, the injectors do not have a ground that runs to them. they are a solinoid and have a constant battery power connection and a variable one. pin 109 on your ecu will be the power to the injectors (goes to one terminal on each injector) and the other terminals will look like this:

injector 1 (cylindar 1) - ECU pin 101injector 2 (cylindar 2) - ECU pin 105injector 3 (cylindar 3) - ECU pin 103injector 4 (cylindar 4) - ECU pin 112injector 5 (cylindar 5) - ECU pin 110injector 6 (cylindar 6) - ECU pin 114

The ecu then has 3 injector grounds which should go to your ecu grounding point.

If you need more clarification, I can draw you up a diagram of how they are wired and/or provide wire colors.
