Start car in morning. Car has previously been cold for at least 2 hours. Car runs fine. drives fine. very peppy. very happy. runs great. spins tires from a standstill just stepping on the gas (VERY RARE for an automatic 240) , and enjoys life.

shut off car for 10 minutes.

re-start car. car now has very little power. apon opening the throttle quickly, car gets retarded and hates life, stutters, pops slightly, mis fires, and has lack of power. car then accelreates slowly and will rev good past 1600, but will be horribly underpowered. can no longer spin tires. can't even break tires loose easily under turns and sideways stress. car hates life.

shut off car until it cools down all the way.2 hours later approximately.

car enjoys life again!

Yeah sometimes.

Do you let the car warm up for a few minutes?

I used to have the same problem, actually mine was a bit worse though. If the car was hot i was have to crank it over for almost 2 minutes before it would start, and if it finally did start it would run like a weedeater for the first ten minutes or so. Could be a problem in your cooling system because once i flushed my radiator and put 50/50 coolant and water it hasn't done it since.

im not sure but it sounds like a heat related compresion problem, or you just push it too hard too early (cold air, unoiled engine) and ur now payin for it. -- MoNK.

Sounds like its definately heat related. The same thing happens to my car (Stanza/ka24e). Once i drive around a little the engine seems to run normal again but still its annoying....

Clogged cat(pieces are rattling around inside and clog occasionaly), weak spark, wrong mixture. Now figuring out what it causing those conditions is another situation.
