Just curious to see if anyone's ever had their clutch linkeage break? I was driving home, shifting into 3rd when all of a sudden "pop", my pedal dropped to the floor. The piece that broke connects the pedal to the pushrod for the clutch m/cyl.( U-bolt-shaped, threaded onto pushrod, connected to pedal w/pin), and it broke at both right angle bends. Should be easy enough to fix with a mig or tig welder, so I thought I'd reinforce it by welding a washer (with a slightly larger hole than the pushrods diameter) to the side facing the firewall, and grinding and filing it to shape. Anyway, has this happened to you? I would doubt I'm the only one this has happened to, especially with a stock clutch.

On my old 79 honda civic that happened, I had to start the engine in 1st gear, and drive all the way home in first!! Never had it happen on my 240 though... I got one from a junk yard to replace it, but I would guess that you could get a after-market one if you wanted. Easier to find 240 parts than it is for a 79 Civic!

I tig welded it back together w/ great success, and ordered the new piece today. I'm definately going to reinforce the new one by tacking each inner corner. That would definately suck to have happen on the highway!
