Has anyone done suspension work (lowering) on a G37 coupe???

Does lowering the car (maybe 1") require you to add aftermarket camber hardware, or will OEM adjustability allow your to align close to spec?

And as a convertible owner, I know that the convertible has a different rear suspension setup than the coupe (to make room for the top), but I have not seen any convertible-specific rear springs or coilovers. Any word on that.

I doubt a 1" drop will require camber adjustments or camber plates. Here's the coilover install on NICO's project G37: http://www.nicoclub.com/archiv....html

Greg I wouldn't recommend dropping your convertible. Not being a DC driver. If there were a 3/4 inch or 1/2 inch drop kit, maybe, but think through it.

I rarely drive in DC, but I understand the risk. Frankly, I'm more concerned about harshness. The convertible is stiff enough.

That said, with the recent snow, I'm surprised how much underbody bumping and scraping I encounter driving over the usual snow boulders. Boy, cars have gotten mighty "thick." The hoodline is tall, yet it's also hanging kind of low.

I know it's an entirely different car, but when I lowered my BMW convertible the ride didn't get any firmer than my stock sport suspension. It may have even gotten a tiny bit softer since the aftermarket spring rates seem more progressive. I used the Eibach Prokit springs which lowered the car 1 inch up front and 3/4 inch in the back. The car handles waaay better than it did from the factory, and I don't bottom out except for some VERY minor exhaust flange scraping on only the largest of speed bumps.

Again, it's a whole different car, but just b/c it's a vert doesn't mean you can't drop it. Give it a shot, springs are only a couple hundred bucks and it's a quick half day install. Not much to lose by trying IMO.
