i found 2 places selling the CA motor. one in canada selling the complete motor for 900+ shipping. its called http://www.japandomesticmotor.com

the other claims they are selling CA front clips for 1500. that site is dragdriftautox.com

has anyone done business with either of these before? or have you herd negative feedback from them?

A $900 CA sounds fishy to me. Make sure it comes with everything that it's supposed to. $1500 is a much more practical price and is probabally a little more reliable.

I agree that $900 seems too low. DDX is a local company here in Washington State, lots of guys are very happy with them, other people have not been so impressed. jdmimportsdirect.com is another local shop, everyone is happy with them so far and they do the most volume in the area, not sure if they have CA in stock though

well 900 was for a motor set. it said it came with everything and i spoke with an employee and made him tell me everything it came with. butits in canada and i hear that there is some messed up stuff happening there

the 1,500 from ddx is for a front clip, but i dont know anyone who has done business with them, so if anyone has, im curious if there reputable.

the only thing that was fishy about ddx, was a ca front clip was 1500....and r32 rb front clip was 1500....hmmmmmmmm

if anyone knows anything about ddx, or a more reputable place that wont rape me with price, let me know.

ca's are actually starting to sell for about 800 bucks but 1500 for a front clip with panels is good i guess

clip with panels for $1500? thats too good to be true... panels run almost a grand depending where you get it from, and are at least $700. I would say for $1500 you get a good motorset or maybe a stripped paneled clip. I would be real careful with anything less than a grand.

try JHOT, Jarco(+++), or Venus (maybe) as reputable importers.

screw venus. unless you can pick it up from them, then don't bother. they gave me the run around for almost more than a year.

ill check it out.

i checked out jarco and on there site ca's were going for 1900+shipping, but than when i called they wanted 2200+shipping. so i didnt like that. i know they are reputable, but 300 dollar price differance is something to look at when its comming from the same site.

the other 2 places you named i never herd of. do you have the web address for them?

Hi,

I actually know this place, I dealt with them few times, very nice guys, but they don't know crap about engines, they think all their engines are good but when you start testing them, you will find out lots of bad engines.

I had to test 6 CA engines so I can find two good ones.If you are interested shoot me an email and I will test the engine for you, it is 2 hours away from my house. I might be heading there next weekend to test and engine for another customer. All companies in Montreal claim the same thing, "We test out engines and we don't sell bad engines", I know every single company in montreal and none of them test their engines and 99% of them don't know what a leak down test or compression test is or what it does and test for.

Most of my customers pay me a small fee to test their engines, and in the long run, it will be worth the peace of mind. Remember, shipping from Canada to any where in the US will run you about 350USD on the top fo the engine.

Good luck,

well, they promptly replied to my email i sent them yesturday. i got it today and they answered all of my questions well. i will most likly buy from them, i guess shipping for a front clip for 800 is good? so 2300 for a front clip shipped.

whay would i need to complete a swap if i buy just a motor set? i would rather the frontclip but im not sure if i can swing that amount with no worries.

Just provide your own intercooler and and piping as well as a competent radiator.

I SPOKE WITH A REP FROM JHOT TODAY, AND HE SAID HE HAS 1 CA IN STOCK THAT IS GOING FOR $1,000+ 215 SHIPPING TO NEW JERSEY.

THE ONLY DOWN SIDE ABOUT THIS IS THAT THE MOTOR HAS 100,000 USDM MILES ON IT. IS IT WORTH IT?

HE HAD ANOTHER ONE THAT HAD 60,000 BUT HE JUST SOLD IT AND HIS NEXT SHIPPMENT OF CA'S ISNT TILL NOVEMBER.

whoa easy killer shut those caps off.

100k miles is a pretty big number, but I guess it depends on what you want to do with it once you get it... If you're replacing some wear items (like the headgasket, timing belt, misc. gaskets, and hoses) then it really should be OK. I wouldn't buy a 100k motor and run it stock though.

100k Miles, Guaranteed the turbo is seized. My advice is don't go with this kind of milage unless you want to rebuild it and replace the turbo.1000 dollars for such a milage is way too much, you should be able to pick it up for about 400-500 dollars at the most as you need to rebuild it.

Good luck,RafiPULSAR GTR
