I used Rit.... around 4 months and still holding strong.

I did the carpet, however, if you are going to do the door panels, just re-upolster. It will work out better.

Yep I used spray on dye (duplicolor) on my carpet and that grey fabric on the door panels. The panels held up okay, probally because you don't touch them much but the carpet started to fade pretty quickly. You could use the dye on the carpet then get black floor mats (assuming you want black?) so that it dosent rub off?? that might work.

I tried to use Rid on my integra hatchback a few years ago after my speakers got stolen. I needed to dye a dark blue felt-covered piece to black. Used pretty much an entire bottle on the thing and it stained it black...kinda blotchy in some places if you look closely. The only problem was IT RUBS OFF! If it's going to be on your door panel I wouldn't try to dye it because you'll get it all over your clothes and stain those instead.

The carpeting and such is acrylic and apparently (according to my friend's mom who's a seamstress) acrylic is very difficult to dye after it's produced. I would imagine that it is fairly inert material and for good reason.

You might want to consider reupholstering that area with the color you want as opposed to dying it. Take my word for it...Rid rubs off of acrylics.
