Has anybody painted their factory Sirius radio antenna that sits on the roof?

I have the factor Sirius antenna and I have been thinking about getting it painted. My coupe is silver and the antenna is black and a little bulky. I have talked to two different people from the same auto body shop in my area (Alvin's in Long Beach, CA) and they both kind of told me different things. The first guy which was one of the workers I think said he could paint the plastic part but not the wire that leads towards the rear window. I left to think it over and I came back another day to talk to some more about it. This time I talked to the owner or the manager I think and after taking a look at it, he told me that he wouldn't do it because he thinks the paint would start cracking. I told him that I would take his word for it and I left. After thinking things over for myself, I still think that there is a good chance the paint will stick. I don't see how hard it can be to paint an antenna. Anyway, has anybody painted their Sirius antenna? How did it turn out?
