Has anybody dynoed a 3.5 CTV A/C with Injen Intake and Nismo Exhaust?

Hey guys! I have a friend of mine that keeps talking trash about how his '05 G35 has more HP than my coupe. I would try to settle it with a race but he lives like 20 hrs away from me..... Anyways, I have a 08 3.5 CVT with an Ijen Intake, Nismo Exhaust, and Stillen Grounding Kit.... Has anybody dynoed their coupe with these similar mods? Let me know... Thanks

The CVT is virtually impossible to dyno. (Not sure why they can't do it in manual mode, since there must be equivalent ratios assigned electronically, but I haven't heard of any way to do it).

In any event, you are probably sitting at about 280 HP. Factor HIS HP and the weight of the two cars, and you'll have an idea of who has the best LB/HP ratio. If his car is MT though, he'll have a noticeable edge just for that reason. And, he has RWD, which is a plus too.

Hey there, I was one of the first ones to try to Dyno a 3.5CVT and of course found out how impossible it was to Dyno.

The best run we got was 232 WHP

That was with Injen intake and NISMO exhaust

hp to weight

g35 280 hp/3468 = 12.4a/c 270 hp/3289 = 12.2

So if he is a manual he got you buy a little bit. It would be a close race. Id say a drivers race...

i have a stock 3.5 cvt and i beat my friends 05 g35 with a k&n intake....but his was automatic......i think he has u by a little if its manual

a little but not a lot. I spanked a local 05 G35 here and he's manual. maybe he mis shifted but a win is a win

I also raced a 280HP G35 auto which seemed stock with my AC 3.5 CVT when it had nismo exhaust only. By 95mph.... his front bumper was half car away from my rear bumper. Also... dont use manual mode... you get faster time in D. Good luck if you get to race him. oh... now I have INJEN intake and nismo exhaust in performance department.

THE 2003-2007 AUTOMATIC G35 COUPE ONLY PRODUCED 275 HPTHE 2003-2004 MANUAL G35 COUPE PRODUCED 275, AND THE MANUAL 2005-2007 MANUAL COUPE PRODUCED 293

WHEN THE SAE FORCED EVERYONE TO BE MORE ACCURATE WITH THEIR HP RATINGS IN 2006, IT APPEARED THAT THE VEHICLES LOST POWER, BUT IN ACTUALITY, IT WAS 275 HP ALL ALONG... THIS CAN BE SEEN HERE

...SO, ADD THIS TO THE FACT THAT THE MANUAL G35'S HAD THE INFERIOR 5AT TRANSMISSION COMPARED TO OUR CVT, AND THE FACT THAT THEY WEIGH A FEW HUNDRED POUNDS MORE.. AND THIS IS WHY THE A/C SPANKS THE G35 COUPE IN STOCK, OR NEAR STOCK FORM, ESPECIALLY THE AUTOMATICS

oh yeah, and for the record, other companies exagerrated their HP numbers also.. the Lexus Sc 430 appeared to go from 300HP in 2006 to 288HP in 2007.... again, it was really 288 all along... anybody here ever race an SC 430? I have, and you'd be surprised at the result!

yeah, apparently the foreign companies were exaggerating their numbers while the American companies were being a bit conservative....
