Has anyone installed theses Goodridge Gstop Stainless Steel Brakeline?

Is any of this true: "Additionally, when G-Stop brake hoses are used with an ABS braking system they virtually eliminate brake pedal “chatter” and significantly reduce stopping distance"

Are these lines a worthy upgrade?

i put them on my escalade, and it made a huge differance in stoping power.

i have not yet tried it on a rainy day to test the abs feel, but if you saw it on tv, it must be true!

the only problem i ran into was they sent me the wrong kit. some year escalades need a 5 line kit some 6. well i needed 5, they sent me 6.

didnt realize untill the front was done and wadda ya know, trucks on the lift for a month! yaaaahhhh!

the fitment was perfect but theyre hardware (retaining clips & rubber mounts are kinda cheap. i just use my stock stuff and was fine.

to me it was worth it. i got them off ebay for 118. free shipping.

Heath knows a good custom supplier also.

The main thing is, the braid has to be coated or encased so stones and other sharp debris don't work their way in.

I don't see how functioning brake lines will affect ABS cycling.

How is this of any greater concern than with a brake line made entirely of rubber?

Has anyone noticed if there is ABS chatter with the brake lines installed?

Thats weird because I do it doent make any noise its just that the pedal vibrates with the rubber lines.

An educated brake engineer would replace or rebuild the entire braking system every 10 year because he know the potential of failure.

Whether oem reinforced rubber or aftermaket.

Yes How right you are, I think I have a front right brake caliper that kicked the bucket so I will replace that. But like the old says "if it aint broke don't fix it". When the other ones go I will replace them with OEM one by one. And if the lines need replacing I will find out if there is no ABS chatter, then I will buy them. But if there is and my line are on the way out I will compare the price if rubber and steel and then the benifits and go from there but I check my sel whill the lines were on the car and they seemed fine.

Apparently they are made to order by Goodridge, so mine should be here in a couple weeks.

Paul, don't take this the wrong way but I think a lot of times you tend to assume things and then try and make guesses on what might fix it...

IMO it would help us help you if you were a bit more descriptive on the problem. Focus on the problem to get to a solution, not on a solution to fix the problem... Understanding the problem is the only way to get to a solution, a true technician [engineer] would never play the guessing game!

I have had my Q for a few years and was never a real lover of the braking system as it stood, at least on my Q. I never really drove my Q, I rode in it, sometimes aggressively but I did not feel like I was really driving. As I am continually making upgrades to my Q I am learning how much I like it and how wonderful it would have been to have owned one in 1994.

I got the kit on E bay for 88 bucks and Wes put them on about two weeks ago. For the money probably the improvement I have made. I notice I have a new confidence in the ability to stop in time. I mean it is a big heavy car....I do not want the front end damage or a claim against me. With that said I am beginning to drive her and do not feel the least bit of doubt that my brakes will perform on my high performance vehicle.

The brakes were soft or spongy even with new rotors and pads. Now they are firm. On that same note I do not when I last flushed the brakes. The fluid was old and discolored. I did take the time to have the brakes checked each time the oil is changed, but it slipped my mind to actually flush the fluid. It will not happen again. Thanks Wes for hooking me up once again.

BTW mine were Russell and they were stainless braided and coated with a plastic tubing to keep the unwanted creatures out.

99.999999999% of the "improved feel" of the brakes come from flushing/bleeding the old moisture laden brake fluid out, NOT braided lines.
