From stop position I press on the gas to go and the car jerks and wont happen again unless the car is stopped at a light or something but is all fine after 15 minutes of driving. Not sure if its 1st to 2nd gear or the transmission locking on to 1st gear causing the jerk because its too quick for it to switch to 2nd gear as soon as I step on the gas. Please help as I just bought this used with 130k kms.

I have a '07 G35x sedan, in the morning I would start the car and wait 10 minutes or so and go. I am starting to feel the car jerk when its shifting to 2nd gear I believe but is all fine 15 minutes later when the car is totally warm. Is this normal or is my transmission going to die?

Umm...isn't there a fix to this at the dealer? Or is that for when when the car downshifts?

The 07 has a little rogher shift. It feels like kicking. Some likes it some don't. You can update it at the dealer.

However the jerky shift seems like something different. Maybe the torque converter or the temperature sensor for the transmission. Take it in and let them deal with it.

Have you replaced your transmission oil yet?

The thing is, by the time I drive to the dealer the car would be driving fine so they might not know what I am talking about.

Should I get it checked out first then see what they say?

I haven't changed the transmission oil as I just bought it. I was planning onto soon but wanted to wait for an answer on here.

its pretty normal. Until the trans fluid is warmed all the way up it will engage harder during the 1-2 shift.

You can talk to the Service Advisor at the dealership and ask him about the TCM (transmission control module) reflash. I believe that there is an available update which may change the shift logic a little and help with that during cold.

Thanks, will give them a call tomorrow. I am taking your word that its normal because your an expert.

What difference will I get with the flash? I know it will improve shifting but what else.

The reflash will help to smooth out that shift point that you are referring to. Thats about it. It just alters the shift logic between the ECM and TCM.

I have the transgo shift kit in my 5AT and I WANT to keep that shift nice and firm all the time :) Less slipping = less heat. Faster shifts + better longevity.

So you didn't get the reflash? so is getting a reflash good? or should I get live with it?

Honestly, its not a big deal. But, if it bugs you enough where you think about it all the time I would get the reflash done. I cant stand vibrations. If I find them in the car I get real annoyed til I find and rid myself of them! :)

I called up 2 Infiniti dealership in my area and none were familiar with a TCM reflash. What to do now since they don't know what I am talking about? will there be a difference between Canada and U.S. modules?

Who did you talk to there? Service Advisor should be aware of it.

It may in fact be an ECM reflash and not a TCM reflash though.

TSB for the '07s for the "throttle sensitivity - ITB08-017a", seeing as it involved reflashing ECU to newer version software. This didn't apply to my 08 as I apparently 08s have a whole different revision of software. ie: no JK69_a,b,c,or d in the software version number). Those with 07s, just for your reference, the latest flash is 23710-JK69D to fix this issue

check the TSBs 028 and/or 045, I beleive. They relate to the Cruise Control, but they do affect the hesitation / shifting/ touchy throttle issues.
