harnesses, safe or deadly?

i run a 3 pt sabelt harness in my s14 and mounted it to the existing stock front and rear seatbelt points. my question is whats all this spinal compression talk i been hearing? do i absoultely need a harness bar? and where can i get one? thanks!!

you want to mount the harnes at the level of the holes it goes through in the back of the seat. the people who hook it on to the rear seat belt buckles and bolt them to the floor are the ones who are in trouble. most times in race cars, they are attached to the roll cage

well the ones that go over my shoulders i got in the back seats,

to they attach to the car lower than the hole in the seat that they go through, if so, then if you crash,it will press you down into the seat and damage your spine

i think it was autopower.com? they sell cages. and harness bars.

until then i just remounted the 2nd of the 3 pts. a little bit higher than my shoulders which should be good right? imma try and get pics of my car up soon!

yep, if the mounting point is higher then your shoulders, then your ok, its just if its lower, then its more of a danger then your stock belts
