Harness/ECU manditory for another KA swap??

im thinking about getting just another ka so my car will run for a long time and i had always thought i could use my already existing ecu and wiring harness. Is this true? I notice a lot of people selling the engine and the harnesses alltogether

they sell together for the peeps that didnt have the ka24De before, but if its the same motor then u dont need the ecu or harness
