i wanna do a RB26 swap some time in the future but before i do that i wanna do all the safety mods first, i found a harness bar for my 300 but its for the 2+2, i have the base model. http://shop.cipherauto.com/Harness-Bars ... arness-Bar
this says that this bar mounts to the 2+2 seat belt mounts in the car, seeing that i dont have the 2+2 i was wondering if there was any way i could still mount this bar in my car? are the base models and the 2+2 the same but just different interiors? any help is greatly appreciated. :bigthumb:

1. welcome.
2. 2+0 is not a base model to the 2+2. The 2+0 and 2+2 both came in base trim and TT (thought TTs were not sold in North America)
3. I would venture to make an educated guess and say that a harness bar made for a 2+2 will not fit a 2+0.
4. Why do you want harnesses? If you think racing harnesses are safer than your factory seat belts for street use there is no proof to say so. Generally harnesses need to be complimented by a proper roll cage.

Welcome!
+1 to the above, and I'll add that the Z32 has no known safety issues in the restraints area of the car when working properly so your focus for any safety/upgrade improvements should be:
1. Brakes. Z32 brakes are barely adequate for the job at hand and especially for a modded car. Look into at least an Akebono brake upgrade kit, best bang for the buck and plenty enough brakes for anything but racing...my next upgrade purchase-to-be as well.
2. Maintenance. The Z32 suffers BADLY from corrosion issues with the harness connectors, and also to the fuel delivery system. Any and all upgrades here will avoid costly damage and repairs associated with tracking down/repairing these problems. I'm still chasing corrosion issues in my '93, new PTU harness about to be installed tomorrow to then have replaced ALL connectors and auxiliary harnesses.
3. Cooling system. Not all but many Z32's suffer from cooling issues that can come from a couple of different sources such as centrifugal clutch fan, bad water pump/120K service needs, and faulty radiator overflow setup. Due to the age of your car, any OEM-only replacement upgrades here (or CSF radiator in place of expensive OEM) will go a LONG way to keeping your Z32 on the road, and you happily driving it.
4. Engine controls. The Z32 often will begin to suffer when engine control items begin to suffer or need replacement. They are hard to service often and costly, leading to "I'll do it later" and further suffering for your car that WILL lead to further problems. A careful test of these controls such as O2 sensors, knock sensor (upgraded harness SERIOUSLY recommended), EGR and other such controls is a must for a long term happy relationship with your Z32 engine.
5. Clutch. Getting down to items that can be done at need, the clutch controls for the Z32 are not up to Nissans' usual standards with the Z32 so all upgrade hardware is recommended by me to ease the burden there, and give you smooth accurate shifting and less wear and tear on the internals. The upgrade clutch pivot ball and upgrade lever arm actually improve the action enough to make an upgraded clutch and pressure plate setup feel better than OEM due to reduced friction (chromoly ball) and flex (solid lever bar).

Anything else can be dealt with at need and there are no other known weaknesses in the Z32 platform, to my knowledge.
Any and all of this can be done with vendors such as CZP and Z1, and using the online service manual and other Z32 repair links found throughout the 'net.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the help guys! Everything you have listed has been done to the car except aftermarket brakes, and I like the look and feel of racing seats and harnesses, I have a terrible habbit of not putting my seat belt on and straps would eliminate that, would getting the harness bar fabed up just be the best option?

Harnesses to be properly installed and worth anything at all (read: legal) would be to mount them to the floor. Anything else is looks only and illegal as hell if inspected.
