A lot of crank pullies have a rubber ring in them that absorbs engine vibrations. Commonly, aftermarket pullies do not have these rubber rings (harmonic dampeners). If this is the case, the vibrations can (and have in other cars) led to premature bearing failure. There was an article in SCC where they addressed this on their project se-r, and they said that nissan motors come balanced from the factory. Then again, SCC also put 8 quarts of oil into their b16a swap project, and drove it to a shop while smoking and knocking to have someone else figure out what was wrong.Personally, the 2-3 horsepower you might get from running an underdrive crank pulley, isnt worth risk.EDIT: i should also note, that these vibrations are so small, you can't feel them. So just because you dont fell vibrations, doesnt mean they arent there.
