Just installed these cords on my QX56 and new G37 to work with my Passport 9500ix. Works as advertised and installed both in less than 5 minutes! Saves about $200 and time required to go to CarToys.

Also, if you decide to buy this for your G37, make sure you ask them for the cord with the smaller prongs...the one they recommend for G35 does NOT work for new G37. Second set they sent worked well...

Do you have their phone number? I couldn't find it on the site. I have an older Passport 8500 and wanted to find out if it used the same cord as the newer models.I have the cords for the 8500. Is there a reason I couldn't just cut one down and make my own stealth cord?

I had 2 power cords going to my 8500. I forget for what purpose. The cord with the clip connection went down to my fusebox and the cord with the barrel end was spliced into my mirror wires.

Thanks for any info.Tom

I ordered a 12" long cord. It fit perfect. After pushing the prongs in, I wrapped the stealth cable once around the mirror wire bundle, then plugged it into my radar detector. I had planned on wrapping it once around the mirror post instead, but the cord wasn't long enough. The reason for wrapping the cord around something was in case the suction cups let go and the detector falls off the w/s ( which has happened several times in my other cars ) hopefully the detector will just dangle from the cord, instead of dropping onto something in the car and screwing it up.Tom

Here's a good mounting solution that will ensure the detector doesn't fall off the windshield. It ain't cheap, but it seems like a quality piece, and it certainly is a clean install. The model shown is for the V1, but I believe they make them for most high end Escort and Bel detectors also.

I have one of these sitting in my garage. I tried to use it and it simply would not power up the detector (8500) for some reason. I love the silence button on the cigarette plugin so I've simply kept it for now.

I have an 8500 and the stealth cord worked fine.

Hmm... Two diametrically opposed reports. I wonder if the non-working cord is just an anomaly or if there are some reliability issues with these...

My instructions are for your year model, a 2008 G35 sedan. It shows the black probe pushing in to the black wire area and the red probe into the brown wire area.I found out from the OP to make sure and ask for a cord with the smaller probes, since the G37 mirror wire connectors are different. I don't know which cord they sent me, but it works with my 8500 Passport. The red probe slid right into place. I had to try several times to get the black probe to slide in, probably my clumsiness.

Give it another shot. If I could make it work anyone can..
