I was wondering if anyone had tried this or would happen to know what wires are what coming from the tape player. I could only imagine the tape deck is unamplified until the signal gets to the head unit, any thoughts?? I hate using my stupid FM modulator and don't even want the tape player anymore!! Any input is greatly appreciated.

Dunno about the Hard Wire, but you can use a wired FM Modulator, which works very well, and I did see a kit on Crutchfield to hook up iPods to the car, if I find it, I'll the link to it, but I think the wired FM modulator is cheaper

But I have a Zune. There has to be a way to hard wire this bad boy right into the tape deck.

Do you have the FSM? We might be able to decipher the diagrams and make something work. I make the aux input adapters for the 90-96 models but the '02 is obviously much different.

I'm not seeing a listing for any 2002 model Nissan/Infiniti vehicles in the Peripheral product listing. Must be some company that an input adapter for that year model.

There is a Guy in the M35/45 section who did a hardwire Harman Kardon I drive. But it was a tape adaptor that he hid the wires behind the tape deck facia

You can always buy or make those Audio Cassette adapters, that go into your tape deck, and you plug the jack that's coming out of the adapter, into your headphone jack.

It actually doesn't matter which brand the media player is, at least for the purposes of an FM modulator.

FM modulators simply make use of the player's 3.5mm headphone jack. Then it runs the signal directly into the radio through the FM antenna (it goes between the antenna and the radio, so you don't loose use of the FM radio). There won't be any way to give the tape deck control of the Zune, though. It would take a replacement headunit to do that. I know there are companies that make remote mount in-car control unit/display combos for just this purpose for the ipod, though, so there may well be similar units for the Zune. With an FM modulator and remote controls, you could stash the Zune in the glove box and be almost as good as if you were running a factory interface.

I just snaked the wire discreetly behind the dash.
