Ive heard thers a sensor or something that will allow the auto trannys to shift harder if its unhooked and wont damage anything. Anyone else hear of this or know where it would be? The cars an 89 240 SX.

there is a resistor that speeds it up http://www.240sx.org/faq/artic...o.htm

Thanks, KID. The articles right, I felt the difference immediately and it is definitely noticeable.

proper term for the electrical connection that regulates the line pressure in the auto transmission is called the "drop line resistor". Normally driving around with it plugged in it allows the torque converter to slip giving a smooth shifting ride. Line pressure is what determines when your auto transmission shifts. When you floor the throttle the transmission experiences full line pressure holding the gear until shift point set by the ecu, when @ a certain RPM/mph, the transmission shifts. When you unplug the drop line resistor the ecu is unable to regulate the amount of line pressure in the transmission and it stays @ full line pressure all the time. By unplugging the drop line resistor you are only going to get the torque converter characteristics of having the throttle punched. = rough ride, and for drag racing it really dosnt make a difference from a good power brake and full throttle

full line pressure = torque converter locked = same thing happens when WOT

sry 4 repeats, im tired
