My 87 HB only hsa 72,xxx miles on it and it recently stopped workin ( not really the issue right now), but when i first got it from my dad (orgional owner) in First gear it would kind of hessitate (manual transmission) like it grips then it doesnt then it grips again causing a jerking motion. well now its doin it in 2nd 3rd and 4th.. havnt seen it in 5th yet. My Question is could this be a transmission issue clutch or a Injector thing. Had Timing chain changed like 100 miles ago along with fuel filter. I dont know if they checked injector or Spark plugs. If you guys have and advise or opinions that would be superb thanks.....

Does it seem to run ok? Can you tell if it's an engine issue or the clutch?

If a clutch is slipping, these could be symptoms of that, but it's odd that it started right after you had things torn down to do the timing chain.

Why did you replace the chain at 72k miles?

sounds like it could be a tps issue. I would dig through a FSM(factory service manual) from your local library and check what the resistance should be on your tps through all throttle ranges. If its a 5 speed it will most likely just be idle and wide open throttle. peace.
