I have a 97 Nissan hardbody, RWD, ka24e. My transmission is going out and i was looking to rebuild it. I checked the transmission code on my door jam and it says that the truck is equipped with a FS5W71C. i have been looking at rebuild kits and several online companies have the 97 hardbody listed as having a FS5W71E. these sites also say that the FS5W71C is in the 98 Frontier (the 1st year of the frontier). Just wondering why this is. Also, what rebuild kit do I need. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Heres an example of what i am talking about.

Not sure on model number but from my experience when it comes to transmissions, buy a rebuilt one from a company that does them all the time. They come with better warranties and are done BY true pros. If you take it to a shop they may not be a specialist on this transmission. If you have GM auto anyone and everyone does those as there are tons of them out there. I found with my old Z get a craterebuild they are better and have better warranty, they just swap it out and send old one back to be used as core.
