hardbody to datsun grille conversion

So while walking through a junkyard today I stumbled apon a few pre 86.5 trucks and ended up walking away with the grille, four headlamps and headlamp brackets for $40, Anybody ever try converting there post 86.5 trucks to the older quad headlight setup? I love the look of the datsuns so I figured its worth a shot. My initial worries are that the newer style hood comes down too far and that the a/c condensor is too wide but I havent actually tried lining anything up yet

I don't think it will work. I have seen HB grilles on 720s but I thought it looked dumb IMO.
