I a 93 HB and it makes the most god awful noise when you hit the limit on steering. Pretty much the most common situation is backing out of a driveway, if you are anywhere near the limit, when the suspension travels up and down, there is a horrible grating noise.

From what I have read, its simply the way the stops work and its not a sign that your steering is destroying itself. There is some sort of nylon bushing that wears off after several years and now it makes this noise. Not a problem, just annoying.

My question is, does anyone know what this bushing/guide/bumpstop thing is called and possibly where I could buy a new set?

you could apply grease to the steering stop on the LCA to stop it, or try this...

Mine did that, if you replace the plastic stops grease them good with white lithium, mine has been silent for 2 yrs now after doing that.

Oh you can go to lowes or home depot and get some plastic caps that go on the legs of metal tables or chairs, I found a pack of four for like 2 bucks, and popped them on the adjustment bolts. been on 2 yrs on first set and still quiet, cheaper and quicker than ordering from dealer. Any plastic cap will do as long as it fits the nut. LITHIUM white grease and it is good for a long long time.
