Hey all,
So I am rebuilding this little 89' 2wd regular cab hardbody to be a reliable daily driver and have a few questions.
I searched but to avail was I able to find anything about the RE-installation of the ka24e into a hardbody. I am replacing the engine and swapping from auto to 5 speed in the process, and was wondering; Has anyone stabbed the engine and trans at the same time? It was a major B I O T C H separating the auto from the KA while they were still in the truck, but it was really the only option.
I'm thinking its possible with the 5 speed attached but I'll at least need one of those pivoting "engine lever" things for my cherry picker.
Let me know if any of you have any experience with REinstalling the KA, rather than swapping for something better, like much of you do.

Yeah, re-installing with the trans attached to the engine is sort of the way to do it. Obviously you'll need all the room you can get, so definitely have your radiator out.
And yeah, you'll need either a load leveler, or someone down at the bottom in order to pull the tail of the trans down as you sling the thing in there.
