I want to hard wire a dash cam to my new Altima. Is there a key-on hot wire in the rear view mirror area? It has home link and auto dim. Thanks for a response.

After looking at the repair manual I see there is both an always on hot wire and switched by ignition hot wire and a ground wire in the mirror. So it looks like I can wire my dash cam at the rear view mirror.

I installed the dash cam by attaching it to the mirror bracket and hard wiring it to the mirror wiring via a step down voltage circuit. The bracket, voltage regulator and wiring all fit neatly behind the mirror and only the camera is visible to the driver. This dash cam is also has lane departure and collision warning.

If your goal to to hide the wires, then do it like most people. Wire it to the fuse box (with add-a-circuit) and pull that wire behind the sides and the A pillar trim and under the roof. Takes a few minutes.
