I haven't messed with my e-brake but isn't it actuated via a cable not hydraulically?

You need more brake fluid.

Sure it's half full at the bottom now.

But when you turn, what do YOU think gravitational pull does?

It moves all the fluid to the side and your sensor goes off.

Ugh. Come on people.

Add fluid - Its not only the light that informs you the emergency brake is pulled, it also tells you if your low on fluid.

You should be covered afterwards

As a rule your fluid level is an indicator of wear on your pads. If your fluids low chances are your pads are also. Im a tech and the brake fluid is the only fluid i dont add to.

Could also be that the sensor is loose on the ebrake, have seen some like that. If the ebrake handle moves (you hit it or G forces cause it) then the sensor hits like it is engaged.

Should be on the base of the handle. Been a long time since I'm looked.

Grab the handle and push/pull it side to side and see if that is the issue.

for the average daily driver

but but but......

he's taking hi G force turns, yo... and i assume he pulls off the wheels to check his brake pads before every track event <not>

Zar is correct on this one as well... just do one or the other & if you do put on new pads, might as well push the old fluid out of the bleeder screws if the fluid's dark

I tell my relatives about this same fact though, unless they have a fluid leak; then i recommend a visual inspection of all the parts & fix it
