Somehow my shift is quite notchy in my s13, it's just hard to get into gear. No noise, just felt a hard resistance.

It's worse in higher RPM than low RPM, i don't know whether this means it's more of a clutch problem than transmission. I have spec stage 3+ clutch, new master cyl, replaced slave cylinder with a good used one.transmission oil replaced with amsoil.

any thoughts? double clutching sometimes help a bit.

There's always some resistance, higher rev = more resistance

But if it grinds the clutch might be at the wrong height, so it doesn't disengage completely

more likely some worn synchro

Thanks for the inputs.

THere is no grinding, just resistance.

If it is indeed my synchros, should I swap to another good used transmission?

If you rev match properly you dont need synchros.

I understand, but that doesn't solve my problem. Our goal here is to know what's wrong. I'm not gonna revmatch and ignore the problem.
