Hard to find 2014 Rogue SL with Almond Leather interior

Hello All,
(Just ranting about my experience finding an 2014 Rogue SL with Almond leather).

It seems Nissan is building very few 2014 Rogue SL with Almond/Beige leather interior.
I have been interested to buy a Red SL (with premium pkg) in Almond/Beige leather. As I see in various pictures & brochures - I find the black dash with almond leather - the contrast makes the interior look much nicer than black with black.

Though I am in Canada, a quick search on cars.com, finds only 32 SL's with almond interior (any color).
Well, in Canada it has been almost impossible to find one.
I test drove few time in January 2014 (SL's) - but all the dealers in and around my area (Montreal, Canada) had only in black leather. I had asked the dealers to call me when they receive any SL with Almond interior - I wanted to see in person before I commit to buy.

Today I re-called Nissan dealers I visited in the past - only 1 said they just received 2 SL's with almond leather today (1 white and 1 red). Both are already sold (were pre-ordered 2 months ago by other customers).
I went to see them anyway - the almond leather looks really nice, the color is very bright than I had expected. It is not beige or cream leather (as in my current Acura EL has) - it is really the color of inside of an almond nut (I guess that's why Nissan call the color Almond, and not beige).

Anyway, the dealer/salesman advised me - the only way to get Almond interior is to pre-order (1-2 month wait) ?!?
And after checking future inventory/quota for Canada - he said only 8 Red 2014 Rogue SL with almond leather will be sent.
And the price is almost non-negotiable (best 500 off MSRP)

Did any of you have hard time finding an SL with almond interior?

Initially my dealer had trouble getting any SLs w/Premium Package, he had to take whatever Nissan sent him. Finally earlier this month he received the color combo I wanted Graphite Blue/ Almond leather. I love the combination and find the black interior to dark. Just be patient and hopefully a dealer will get the colors you want.

I just ran into the same problem here in New Jersey. We wanted an SV with the Almond interior but our dealer only had black. Doesn't make sense.

Is it that much important? It is just a car. Negotiate and buy a car with "common" interior at a decent price. In Canada we are already paying more, why do you want to pay even more? And I will tell you my story: two year ago we had a hail storm and in 30 minutes my one year old Rogue got dented all over the hood, roof, doors...they PDR the car and to do that they remove all the interior trim parts and the roof liner. When putting back, they creased the roof liner, lost one trim piece, scratch nearly all of it and at least three of them have white marks on it (due to pushing hard without alligning the holes to clips). I am not talking about two rear ended accidents (one happened when the car was six months old)...

Can you imagine it happened to your hard-to-find, precious "almond" interior?

What I am trying to say is, hope for a car that brings luck to you and your family, not for a one with a hard to find interior or "lane departure warning" gizmo as if you fell asleep during a 12 hour interstate driving!

Tell that to my better half. No compromise on the beige, the charcoal is too gloomy and dark - and I agree. All my car interiors have been beige so far :-) Was lucky and got a Saharan Sun Beige interior SL AWD + Premium yesterday - Compromised from Red with Beige because it could not be found anywhere and factory order is too long a wait. Beige is a livelier and brighter interior. You will cry if your new car gets messed up wether it's black or beige :-)

Must just be a bad job of spreading the cars around. The dealership I went to had 3 fully loaded 14 SL's with AWD in stock. I bought a midnight jade one with the Almond leather. The other two were white, one with Almond, and the other with the black interior. I went with Almond just for a change of pace since my last car was Black on Black.

there were no prem SLs around when i purchased my rogue but it was pretty easy to track down a Pearl White SL with Almond that i own now. dealer said they would have to order one and could take up to 10 weeks

Dealers around me seem to have some inventory but it moves fast. It doesn't sound like dealers are able to order inventory to their liking yet, they are just taking whatever Nissan wants to send them. Finding a fully loaded model with exactly what I wanted (and nothing I didn't) was impossible so I just ordered one. Took about 2 months from order date to pick up.

Wow! that's is nice combo. I would have love to get the Graphite Blue + Almond leather: for me.
But we need to retire/replace my wife's car - she does most driving, and she prefers the Red.
BTW, In Canada (Blue + Almond) combination is not even offered. Here one can get almond interior (cloth or leather) only in following 3 combination :
SV: Midnight Jade
SL: White or Red

Sorry to hear about your problems with your car.
Car's exterior and interior color is (still) important for us, and we would not buy the car if it is not our liking (and we usually keep our cars for long time 5-10yrs).
Giving up on finding the preferred color combo, we even went to see a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T - Limited with Saddle leather.
The price was great, $2000 bellow INVOICE (not MSRP) as Hyundai Canada was offering $2000 discount (with 0% for 60m).
But because of that upward belt-line (which gives nice sporty look from outside) - creates huge blind spot but most importantly is that my kids (or anyone less than 5 feet tall will have the same problem) cannot see outside on the sides. (more on this in Cross-shop thread ...).

Same here, and may be will pre-order ours this month.
One of the bigger dealer in Montreal I visited had about 20 "2014 Rogue", but only 2 SL's had almond interior (which were already pre-ordered/sold).
As a comparison, on cars.com (in USA) there are now only about 5000 "2014 Rogue" (any trim) and only 109 listed with Almond (cloth or leather) interior (~2% ). Early in the winter the inventory was 7000-8000 (any trim).
