i have a 2002 sentra se-r spec-v i have a problem - no check lights on but car starts normally in the morning but after i drive on it for a while and restart it wont turn over normally. some one told me it could be the oxygen sensor - even the crank sensor ! i belive its the fuel pressure regulator - can anyone help

** hard to get it to turn over ( like if it was choking )** black smoke from the tailpipe ( black smok means gas burning !?! )** wastes alot more gas now

runs like new after it starts - no lost power and doesnt show any sign of anything wrong.

is the pressure regulator located in the gas pump ?thank you

the white smoke could possibly be a head gasket issue. im not sure about the other 2 symptoms, sounds like a sensor, but the check engine light isnt coming on so that's out the window.

try posting in the nissan mechanic section:zeroforum?id=23

good luck!

Have you had a dealer run the VIN for recalls? That's Step 1 for any 02-06 SE-R with issues.

The smoke comes out black ( not alot but noticable ) they tell me its because its burning to much fuel.

i feel like its the fuel pressure regulator but its inside the fuel pump and what if its just the pump it self - iam going to take it to get a general diag.

do you guys know how to get the fuel pump out without droping the fuel tank - i think i read somewhere that i can get to it thru the back seat -

any help - thank you

Check the FSM for getting to the fuel pump. It is via the back seat.
