i have an 89 240sx and when i got it about 4 months ago there werent any problems with the car(at least none that i noticed) and here about a month ago the car started to do this thing when i tried to start it. i would turn it over and it would act like it was going to start then it would seem to lose fire then it stalled and it would do this about 3 times then it would start. any ideas?

Welcome to the group.

Not much to go on but I would start with the basic tune-up things. Check and/or replace the plugs, wires, cap, rotor.

Not a bad idea to replace the air filter and fuel filter as long as you are doing the wires etc.

Did this problem start shortly after getting fuel? If so hav eyou worked your way through that tank yet? Could just be bad fuel.

Try the basics and if that doesn't help then come back and we will try again.
