I have a 1989 240sx w/ an injen intake. Approx. 160k.

I bought the car a while ago with a hard starting/sputtering/low idling/shaking problem. I replaced the cap, rotor, wires, and plugs, thinking this would fix the problem, but it didn't. So now I'm still left with the same problem. When I start the car it kind of bogs down. It shakes and bogs and then dies out. I have to try starting it multiple times and I have to press the gas to the floor. Eventually it will rev up and then run fine other than the shaking when idling. I also replaced the battery but now the battery light keeps coming on when the car idles or when i push the clutch in. It goes off when I start to drive it or step on the gas and then comes back on when the rpms come back down. I was thinking maybe I need a new alternator, but I'm not sure. please help me. Thanks

Try searching 'coolant temperature sensor'. Sounds like you have those symptoms. As for the battery light, kinda sounds like the idle is too low, possibly due to the poor running condition. Check coolant temp sensor, then see if that helps the battery problem.
