Ok I have two questions on my 97 QX4 (182,000 miles):
I've recently developed a "hard shift" into second (well I think it's a hard shift). When my car is barely moving (aka slow traffic) shifting into from when not applying gas causes the car to shake slightly.
The transmission was inspected about 3 years ago (Around 150k mile mark) for a unrelated problem (and the problem ended up not being related to the transmission) and was said by the shop to be in perfect order. I had the fluid flushed shortly after this was done (Around 155k mile mark).
Should I take my truck to a transmission shop to be inspected? Or do you think another flush will fix my problem?
Unrelated:
I was in an accident a few months ago and had to have a lot of the suspension parts replaced on the front right side. The body shop that did the initial work never replaced a torn CV boot and I recently took it back to the body shop to have it replaced (after a local garage pointed it out to me).
All the body shop did was replace the boot and regrease the joint. I now notice the "clicking" sound when doing slow turns (Well its more of a slow creeping sound).
I have yet to have it inspected by another garage since the boot was replaced but should I have the original body shop replace the cv-joint instead of just the boot? Or would re-greasing the joint and replacing the boot be enough? I believe infiniti actually did the work on the cv joint (and not the body shop) but I am not 100% certain.
Thanks guys! This is my first car (and first to get to high mileage) so I am not really acostomed to maintaince at this level. Within the past 3k miles I've replaced the tires, plugs, wires, fuel filter and air filter. Everything seems to be running fine except for those issues.
