Hey guys I got a S14 shell from a friend with out a motor in it and I figured I'd try to throw a RB25 in there

The current thing I am trying to figure out is what the hell these two hard lines do and if I need them, and if I do where do I hook them up?

One goes down the frame rail on the drivers side and just stops and goes into a little box thing. The other goes up past the master cylinders over the firewall and back down to the fuel tank.

At this point I would be happy with the names or something so I can try to look them up in the FSM. Here is a picture of the two hard lines in question.

NON RB BONUS QUESTION: What is the thread of the big port (low pressure line?) in the rack and pinion so I can get the correct barb for my power steering cooler? 1 billion points for the correct answer.

Those are not standard in the stock S14 chassis. It looks like he swapped over the EVAP lines from the R33 chassis. You can take them out if you want, but be aware of the ramifications because it could cause your car to smell like gas in other areas like the cabin or engine bay.

I can't tell you the bonus question answer for sure but I'm pretty sure both fittings on the rack are inverted flare fittings. I'd take a wild guess at M14 x 2.

Hrmmm...I'm pretty sure he had a SR20 in there before I got the car. I just swapped that R33 cross member recently if you were taking a que from that. There are 3 lines that come from the gas tank correct? I know there is the fuel feed and return and then there is the one that is pointing up with the rubber hose still attached in the picture. Is it some sort of vent line?

The fittings on the rack are some goofy flare fittings with o-rings. I do know that they are NOT the same size. The one attached in the picture is smaller than the one I don't have.

I still have no idea what the other hard line that goes down the frame rail is though.

the 95 cars have a different evap system than the obd2 cars...just remove the lines and cap the hard line going back to the tank for complete carbon canister removal.

Yes my car is a 95, actually a late 94, BUT ANYWAYS, both these hardlines are for the carbon cansiter? If so I'm glad I can just rip these out. Easy.
