I've had my G for about 3 weeks now and love it. But I've found some shortcommings in the audio system that others here have commented on.

They are:

1) The entertainment system software only allows one to rip music from the CD to the hard drive. You can not copy music from the compact flash port. This is a MAJOR shortcoming to transfering your music library to the car's hard drive. I'm sure this is a software lockout. Anyone tried to reverse engineer this?

2) The hard drive is a paultry 9.5 Gb. Would like to upgrade this to something in the 80 or 100 Gb range. Anyone know if this has been tried? If I could replace the hard drive I could pre-record it with music.

1. No solutions as of yet, that I know of. It would be nice to be able to copy from a CF card, just not sure if Infiniti will bring that feature.

2. From what I understand, the hard drive is integrated into the nav system. So you'd have to remove the nav, disassemble it to get to the drive, then copy the image over to a new drive. I also presume the hard drive is encased in some sort of shock-protection setup.

If you decide to take on #2, we'd all appreciate pictures I use an 80GB iPod Classic to store all of my music, and so far have only ripped 2 CDs onto the hard drive.
