I had that problem. turns out the previous owner had put the darn H&R springs in upside down. I noticed this when I went to replace the strut mount. I also got the polyurethane tension rod bushings. It doesnt clunk as bad, but, it still does it now and then. I've noticed it mostly does it when only one side hits a bump at a time. If I go over a bump in the road that hits bot front tires at the same time, it doesnt do it. i'm thinking it may be my sway bar endlinks. Time for aftermarket sway bars. I'll just keep upgrading stuff until it goes away....lol.
