As you can see, i broke the brake hard line on the rear passenger side about 1" from the clip. this line is only about 8" long, it attaches to a T block. Should I try to bend it back to shape, put the fitting on, and reflare the tip, or just get a new one? My car always pwns me when i work on it, rust and corrosion suck.

I'd replace that mofo. Get some new hard line, bend it or have it bent and then flare it. As for rust and corrosion...I feel your pain. I live in PA.

Seriously, every job on my car takes 3x as long as it should. My standard tools are PB Blaster, WD40, and a torch. I don't think I could ever do anything without them. Lol

If it makes you feel any better, I was working on my front brakes and found that the bleeder screw had fused itself to the caliper. Everything was so rusty and remans from Autozone were so cheap we just said **** it and ordered two new remans. That way I've got four (sorta new) calipers all the way around to go with the Superblue Fluid, SPL lines and Brembo rotors.

All that other stuff wouldn't make a bit of difference with rusty, leaky calipers.

Thaat sucks. You are better of replacing the line. The lines are very cheap. It is a pain bending the line identical to the stock line. They make a tool that bends the line or you can do it yourself.

Update: I was able to put on one of the front SS lines, but the other side stripped beyond compare, even using a craftsman 10mm flare wrench and like 5 applications of PB blaster. I took that whole line out so now I need 2 new hard lines. One of the rears is still an unknown, but it seems pretty stripped and stuck, so i think that wont be coming off either. ARgh..where shoudl I get hardlines? I was gonna try junkyard, Z car atlanta to be precise, unless they're cheap new.

Well, you said you can flare the line, right? You can find a tubing bender anywhere fine tools are sold. OK, Harbor Freight has 'em too. We've actually got a Craftsman kit, but I couldn't find it online right now since their site is acting kinda flakey.

I'm reasonably sure you can get the appropriately diameter and length of line from any auto parts store.

Alternately, I suppose you could take the mangled remains of your lines to a brake place and have 'em bend up the lines for you.

I was gonna flare it with a small screwdriver, did that for my clutch and it worked fine. There's a junkyard nearby with an s14, im gonna try that first. hope it has what i need.
