Hard Body power loss issue

My 89 hard body keeps cutting out in gear, regardless of rpms. You accelerate and then it dies down while the pedal is still pushed. Spark plugs were changed, fuel filter changed, nothing seems to be loose. This is my DD so any help is appreciated.

Has the distributor or oil pump been removed at any time? You didn't mention4cyl or 6cyl. Assuming 4cyl, what condition is the timing chain in?

May be shot in the dark but check all vacuum lines for cracks, vacuum leaks can make engines run real bad and in a million ways. That is simple and free do it yourself check.
