Ughhhh... seems like I am having hatch issues. I went to open it today and althoug the lock popped (or whatever you want to call that mechanical sound) it only opened a little bit and was still locked. You know, kind of like when you don't close it all the way. I tried it a couple more times and same thing. I tried it after I got home from work but it worked OK.

So anyway no big deal, maybe it was cold or maybe it's broken and will need to be fixed under warrantty. I am annoyed by the fact that there is no KEY HOLE to manually open the hatch if/when this thing goes out. My last car had a similar trunk opening mechanism (electronic) that failed and I had to use the key because it was way out of warranty. I won't have that option when this one quits oh well, I'll start saving now.

BTW I looked in the manual and there is way to open it from the inside by going through a lot of hassle.

Sounds like it's releasing, but then immediately relatching. Is the latch loose after it initally unlatches? IT could be a mechanical adjustment, but it might be electrical.

It's a neat meachanism... but all together, on an economy car I think simple is better. A mecahincal lever behind hte handle would have been better.

There is a manual release... remove the small cover on the inside of the hatch, i know there is a lever in there somewhere.
