So those of you that know me know that I have had my 120K mile kit sitting in my garage for like 4 years because my wife can't find the money to let me get it done. Well this winter she blew some snow into the garage with the snowblower. It was warmer today so I went to check out my car stuff. Here is what I came out to...

Joke is on her because now we are spending money to buy parts I have already bought. They have been sitting in the garage so long they are literally turning to dust...

Once you guys get another kit, have her soak the parts in oil and zip-lock bag them, before she stores them for the next 4 years!

So my dad thinks I can still use these because the moving parts are fine and are not ceased up. Would you put them in your car if they were cleaned up? If so, how would you go about cleaning them up?

I would think even if you cleaned them up, they will likely quickly oxidize again without some kind of protectant. With time, that oxidation could affect something else.

Thanks. That's kind of what I was thinking. I would rather eat a few bucks than really screw something up...
