I set off my alarm at work all the time ....go get that key cover thing itll help youPawn wrote:My keychain is really bare.. its just the key loop, about 2 keys, and a few of the plastic swipe passes for the gym/grocery store/etc, and then the Nissan fob. The only thing I ever keep in that pocket with my keys is my cell phone and spare change. I don't wear emo jeans, so it's generally roomy enough in my pocket
As far as the trunk, the story is that one night I had to go out to get something from my trunk. As I was walking up to my car I was hitting the trunk release button on my fob and I didn't hear it pop open. I thought my fob was broken until I got to the car and realized the trunk was already open. When I opened it fully, the light was off and stayed off. I didn't think much of it, got what I needed, and closed the trunk. The next morning, I went to start up my car and it wouldn't start. It took about 8 or so tries but eventually it cranked up. This was during the winter when it was very cold. This was the only time I ever had difficulty starting my car, and it sounded like a battery issue. I assumed it was just that the trunk had remained open the night before until I went out to get something from it, and it had drained the battery. I haven't had any problems with the car starting or the trunk being open since then.
I do have a key cover already, though! I have one of these: http://www.thejacketstore.com/...tailPhEnoM78 wrote:

You're probably right. The battery draining on the trunk release is a little curious though, and points somewhat to an electrical system issue. Most likely is just that I want to blame this on somebody else.LongBeachCoupe wrote:Disable the windows down via fob.
I dont wear emo tight jeans either dude I still hit the panic button all the time, and dial "Justin" and "Zack" with my blackberry in my pocket.
It doesnt take much pressure to hit the buttons dude, 99% says your pressin the buttons on accident!
I just might have to try this. And I just might have to drive by the dealership with my backup key fob at 2am and hold down the unlock button for 5 seconds.mcheddadi wrote:we had a member with the same problem but he got snow in the car the whole night. if was a problem, so he told the service manager at his dealership and they told him to leave the car for a day or two to see if the windows would roll down. lucky him they did so the dealership replaced the whole remote lock system for free and now his car is fixed.
haha, i was thinking of telling you to do that...just in casePawn wrote:

Yep...that would be a big 'Take it in' there...Pawn wrote:I aired my car out a bit over the weekend and it smells fine now. I still might get it detailed if I take it in for tints.
Update: This morning I came out to my car. Windows were down, again, the whole way down. Luckily it didn't rain last night so it was fine. Also, if I lived anywhere near a populated area I am sure my GPS, iPod, etc. would all have been stolen. This s*** is not cool!
