Mets have one of the deepest farm systems in baseball, and yeah we spent a lot on some players but not as much as some.

The Mets were labeled the "other" team in NY for so long. Money had to be spent to convince the other potential Met players the team was willing to do anything to win.

I think the National East is going to be the closest its ever been this year, the Braves have put a class act team together, the Phillies are going to be tough, the Marlins are re building but may surprise, and the Nationals will drag but may play spoiler later on.

Yeah, the East should be interesting. Braves kept their select stars and picked up some "semi-stars" again. Lots of new players. I have not followed Philly to see what they have yet.
