Ok i have a question.. Like i know how my car handles and i know how to control the car when it looses control... (practicing in parking lots throwing it around alot helps) Now when i'm driving in the rain... My cars tail seems to want to come up from under me alot.. its an 89 240 FB... and i know how to control it so its not a problem but it seems it loose traction very easily.. now i have my system which weighs approx. 127lbs.. now i know that the cars weight ratio is 60/40 i was curious if that added weight would throw off my ratio and also cause it too loose traction in turns. Like in a straight line traction is not a probably.. its when it comes to merging on roads or taking right/let turns at green lights.... Tires are brand new.. and they are 215/65/R15.. on the back and 195s on the front.. i thought that the wider tire size would give me better traction.. :sad

I use to have Nitto 555R's on my other car and they did not handle well in the rain. I would think that the tire’s ability to channel water away from the tire would be your biggest factor. The symptoms that you described were the same that I saw with my Nitto's.I would look into a good tire that is rated for wet conditions. I like my Yokohoma AVS DB’s.

Don't forget suspension setup. Too stiff a rear setup (sway bar) can increase oversteer. Read a thread called "The Truth About Handling" by Q45tech in Infiniti Online Mechanic.
It should be required reading for ALL NICO members.
You score another point AZ (you and your crazy deranged avatar changing s3lf ) Thanks.. its very informative and it should be required reading.. Ha you should have it to where you register and make you read that and take a test on it then you can join... lol
The car is completely stock btw.. no suspension work done what so ever.. just my system that seemed to throw everything off... I took it out and the car didn't loose traction that much.. i guess cuz it didn't have like a counterweight to swing it around more..

I'd recommend Firestone Firehawk SZ50EP tires for the absolute best wet weather handling performance you can get. Check out the specs/feedback on the web site of one of our advertisers:
it doesn't rain here... it goes crazy.. and you can't see 2ft in front of you.. then it gets really hot to where we have fires.. then the hurrincanes come and then the illegal alliens wash ashore from the hurricane then we have to clean up.. and thenn i go drifting... what the hell did i just say here??
