Have a chance to buy Falken Hanabi rims with tires, 18x8.5 +38. Does anyone know if they will clear z32 30mm brakes for sure and any other clearance issues other than fender rolling?

Yeah I know, I wish they were like 30-35 offset. But it's to good of deal and everything. Plus I need rims ASAP since I just did 5 lug conversion and z brakes. And they are from a friend. Any clue how they would sit? haha I'm hoping they arent like sunk in or stick out

If that is for a 240sx, there is no way it's gonna fit on the front.

Agreed.

However, a picture of the wheel and the specifications will give a better guess.

Anyway, yeah that particular size will clear z-brakes.

Wrong. If the spokes are not far enough away from the mounting surface, they will hit the caliper.

Yeah, you're wrong.

My stock 15" alloys cleared the brakes diameter-wise, but I needed spacers so that the spokes would clear the caliper. That's the issue here.

I verified with a website that these rims fit on a 300zx, thus clearing the brakes... but none of the other sizes will clear according to the site, only the 18x8.5+38.

Depending on which version of s13 SE rims you have, you can clear the front brakes with a 5mm spacer and stock wheel studs.

Rear z-brakes are pretty sunken in, and they do not require a spacer.

that size wont clear coilovers in front without a spacer anyway, if youve got coilovers you just solved any brake clearance issue you may have

True, but not everyone wants coilovers.

The sizing he is looking at won't even clear a shock setup on an s13. Not sure about s14.

woah woah no i know offset has nothing to do with clearing z brakes. I was just asking if anyone knew if this particular spoke design/wheel does. And you think it wont even clear my shocks at all? hmmm alright thanks for the info. I'll be checking them out tomorrow now anyways that i know they will clear z brakes and everything. Thanks

I dont know, I'm thinking maybe I can fit them. I just talked to a dude I know who has 20x10's on his s14, and coilovers and says he clears. Said he runs 5mm spacers just to be safe and he had 18x8.5 +38 on his car before and didnt have a problem....I'll see how this goes tomorrow. fingers crossed

rim, yes, tire, no.

using a 225mm tire, it would be making sweet love to the stock shock assembly

Is this local to you? Test fit them, the only way to be sure... or just run 10mm sandwich spacers, thhey'll help clearence and flushness

+1 You said that these are your friends wheels so test fit them. It might also help if you posted what size tires are on them

It's for his s14. By the way, 18's don't really fit functionally on s13 front.
