Hey guys, I made a thread over in the tuning section here: haltech-1000-sr20det-t534465.html but the tuning section gets very little exposure so I thought I'd post here also.

Basically I'm trying to tune my Haltech Platinum 1000 but I am having a rich condition with any sudden throttle input. I'm thinking it could be my transient throttle or injector angle settings but I'm not sure so I'm here for advice.

I would appreciate any advice and/or tunes and settings that could be shared to help me get started with my haltech+sr combo.

Thanks!

Sounds obvious but maybe check out the Haltech website. They have owner forums and a really good support section. Also have you r tried self tuning. If you have the right O2 sensor and your wideband hooked in the 1000 can self tune. Maybe this will help build you a base map and you can fine tune after you get the kinks worked out

Rich on throttle tip-in is from bad settings on acceleration enrichment (or whatever haltech calls it).

That's the transient throttle enrichment I'm taking about right? That's what I'm asking about

Yeah, I have the base fuel map pretty well taken care of or so it seems since it will get good afr's if I gradually up the throttle. Anything sudden and it sputters though so I'm thinking the transient throttle would need to be adjusted. Also since I have poncams do I need to adjust the injector angles?

It could be, but I don't know the Haltech management very well.

Injector angle timing wouldn't do that though, so that should be ok... Unless it's running full sequential, then it might need some tweaking, but shouldn't cause rich on tip-in.

Maybe these might help?

Hey thanks, I was just reading up on that stuff yesterday actually. I'm headed out to try and tune it some more right now; I'll keep it updated here.

EDIT: So I just finished messing around with it for a bit... I added a bit more to the base fuel map, tinkered with the transient throttle settings and corrected my injector dead times which were at .689ms at 14v and should have been .61ms at 14v. Annnnnnnd, it's much better now! very little hesitation on throttle input and smooth acceleration through 1st gear. (no inspection, just got to drive it back and forth in a small lot)

I have it a bit richer across the board and I pulled 5 degrees of timing across the ignition map (set up as per enthalpy's recommendations before the minus 5) just to make sure things are safe until I fix an exhaust leak and get more accurate afr readings.

Getting closer!
