Back in the game and need a standalone for my RB'd S13. Anybody have experience with Haltech Platinum Pro? They have a $200 discount doing on right now till the end of the month. Was considering Nistune but dont like the lack of features (e.g. launch control, gear based boost control ect.) or how outdated apexi fc is. And the AEM sounds sketchy condsidering the CAS trigger wheel.

I think you answered your own question already :)

I went with Haltech and have not had one complaint. Pushing 665 whp on E85 currently.

I just wanted to make sure that there were no horror stories behind this ECU. I was looking at the start up guide and saw that pins 112 and 114 needed to be switched for the injectors, why? If they are running the same duty cycle why does it matter?

Reason is that you're computer is thinking cylinder injector X is cylinder injector Y.

Anyways, if anyone needs a Haltech, let me know we'll hook it up! :dblthumb:

AIT is a must when running in SD mode.

Ok, would this GM AIT sensor be ok? http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/gm-o ... -p-62.html

I am trying to get the car to idle right before I throw the PP in there, Im having an issue with runnning too rich and loping RPM's. Im thinking its the Q45 throttle body, you guys run into issues with this TB before?

yes that sensor will work just fine with the haltec...but 'trying to get the car to run right' with a stock ecu and mods is silly if you're going to a standalone.
once the ecu changes, then you're starting from square one.

Ill have to check for more vacuum leaks this weekend as well as finish my downpipe and wideband install. I dont want to put the Haltech in knowing there are problems. Ive taken the fast idle spring off, replaced the gasket, set the throttle plate closed and set the tps to .44v but the idle is still not right. It was fine with my stock throttle body before. Wish I had more than one day to work on this chit! EERRRRRR!!

Got almost everything ironed out, just have to install a IAT sensor. Idle was a little finicky but got it set at a solid 900 RPM's. The antilag launch control is awesome! I didnt know what the hell was going on until the RPM's hit the target value, I have to definitely lower it. How much vacuum is everyones motor pulling at idle? Mine pulls 16-18 inches of mercury, seems kinda low.
